Lindley-Scott House

This Georgian-style home was built in 1911 by famed architect Robert D. Farquhar for

the manager of Foothill Ranch, Charles Lindley. The home was later acquired by Mabelle Scott

Anderson, a pioneer in women's education and owner of an elite international girls school.

What is it that draws us to vintage houses? Maybe it's the sense of continuity and

permanence they give to our evanescent modern lives where the latest gadget is

obsolete before you get it out of the box. Old homes also remind us of the grace and

elegance of earlier days, when artisans had pride in their work, and people took their time.

You may never have thought you would visit the quiet college town of Azusa,

but it's hard to resist the lure of the historic Lindley-Scott House in the San Gabriel foothills.
